Do You Dream Of Retiring Now?

By August 9, 2018 No Comments

Do you ever dream of retiring now? Dream of life with no alarm clocks, a day when everything is up to you, every day is yours to do whatever you want to do. Traveling, spending time with the kids and grandkids, playing golf (my favorite), hiking, doing things around the house that you’ve put off doing, or maybe even just pursuing hobbies or some other passion in life? The question is, can you retire now? You might be saying, “Tony, you’ve got to be kidding me. I’ve been working all these years making income, how in the world am I going to figure out how much I need to live on if I retire? If you think you’re so smart, how in the world are we going to replace all this income?”

Well, the only way I can answer your questions is as follows. Over the past 34 years in the retirement planning trenches, I have met hundreds upon hundreds of people who have asked me this very same question. Furthermore yes, in some cases, I’ve been able to allow them to retire much sooner than they ever thought was possible. In many cases, even earlier than the general retirement date.

I can tell you, through all of that, my greatest joy in the field of retirement planning is literally sitting down, either a single person, a married couple, it doesn’t matter, who looks me in the eyes (with a kind of kidding tone) and saying, “Boy, if you could help me retire now Tony that sure would be great.”

To which I always say back in a somber tone, are you serious?  Then the person will look at me and go, wait a minute, are you serious, Tony, do you think I can really retire? I always respond this way. I don’t know, but let’s find out!

In fact, over the years since I have been able to help a lot of people retire sooner than they thought. It indeed is gratifying to see them then several years later, a big smile on their face and say, Tony, I’m enjoying retirement so much, we just want to thank you and your staff for what you’ve been able to do putting stuff together for us.

We put together game plans folks. That’s why people are confident when they go into retirement while working with Tony Walker Financial. This game plan is a visual that you can see what you’ve got, and most importantly, how we’re going to use and enjoy and protect that money. I have conducted thousands of meetings over the last few decades.

Somebody asked me the other day, they said, “Tony, I’m kind of shopping around. I’m talking to other advisors. How come I want to work with you anyway?”

I said, here’s the thing. Many of these advisors are probably competent. I don’t know. I can’t speak for them. I guarantee you, no advisor out there doing retirement planning in this particular part of the country, I assure you, who has worked with as many people and has seen retirement play out with as many couples. I can verify it.

I can show you how many game plans we’ve done. It’s been in the thousands. We know retirement. When I sit down and talk with somebody about retiring early, maybe you can, perhaps you can’t, but at least you’re talking to somebody that is working in your best interest and going to try to do the best we can to get what you want.

It’s crucial that a retirement planner is trained in the various nuances of insurance and investment products, annuities, estate planning, all that’s important. Don’t get me wrong, having an understanding of how to look long-term at what it is you want, enjoying the fruits of your labor, to me that is the key in working with a correctly trained retirement specialist working in your best interest.

I’m going to share with you some things, and you might say, well Tony, I don’t know if I’m even going to reach out to a retirement planner. I’ve been retired for years. Or I’m age 50, I’m far away from this. How is this going to help me?

Well, first of all, it may not help you as much as it might help a friend of yours. You might have a family member. Or let’s say you’re retired, you may have some former coworkers where you worked, and once you hear this show, you might say, hey, Larry, Susie, whatever, you need to call this Tony Walker fella. He may be able to help you get out early just like I was able to.

Do you know where a lot of our clients come from? A lot of our clients come from coworkers who have worked with us. A lot of these coworkers are still back there slaving away, and they don’t know what to do.

Then somebody takes an opportunity, a leap of faith and they meet with me. We figure out how to help them retire. They retire. And then the coworker says, you know, hey, Jim, how’d you do this? Well, they refer them to us.

Some of you are sitting there saying, Tony, that’s one thing I like about your company, we get a lot of free advice and feedback. You’re always talking about how to try to help us figure out how to use and enjoy this stuff. It seems like the financial world doesn’t talk about that. In fact, all they keep telling me is I need to save more, and save more, and I’m not going ever to have enough money.

How come you’re always talking about me using my money, and they talk about them using my money. Well, you’ve got to understand, this is how the financial world makes money. They make money on your money. It really is not in their best interest to allow you to use that money because you’re going to take it away from them, and they lose out on the fees. That’s one reason.

The second reason is the reality of my own personal situation and why I think it’s essential to retire as soon as you can. Because time’s a wasting.

I remember I was back in my mid-20s. Just a few years later my father was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.

Now, my father’s situation, again, perfect health. Great job. He was the administrator of a large firm there in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Had a pretty sweet retirement, happily married.

In fact, he was so excited, he had taken out a tax-sheltered annuity at his employer and was putting a lot of money in that and was bragging about how much money he was going to have at retirement and all that stuff. And all this to boot, OK? A good marriage, good money, nice home, looking forward one day to retirement and my father never ever made it to retirement.

Then, one of the saddest days of my life, I was working then at my father-in-law’s firm back in the mid-’80s. I get a call, and one of the assistants says, hey, Tony, your fathers on the phone.

And I thought, my dad, he never calls me at work. What does he want? So, I picked up the phone. I hear my father, a grown man sobbing over the phone because they had recently taken away his car keys. This was recently after his diagnosis. And I thought, man, this is sad. He’s not even 60 years of age, he can’t even drive.

What is the point, Tony? The point is, folks, you and I don’t really know what tomorrow holds. As you get a little older, and if you’re like me, getting close to what we call halftime, that period of time between 59 and 1/2 and 70 and 1/2, that’s halftime.

You better start thinking about this stuff. If you want to enjoy the fruits of your labor really, what I have discovered working with so many clients is, that period of time for most people between 59 1/2 and 70 1/2, is literally the best time in most cases to truly enjoy your money.

Just check out the obituaries. There’s a bunch of people just like my dad that never make it. Now, what am I saying? Does that mean we should all just que sera, sera and pack it in and quit working? That’s not what I’m saying at all.

What I’m saying is let’s take a realistic approach. Let’s quit listening to the financial world out there that tells you, you can’t retire soon. You’ve got to keep saving with us. You’ll never make it without us. You have no game plan for dealing with taxes and fees and all this stuff we can help you with.  Let’s at least sit down and talk.

Let’s find out what you want in life. Let’s find out where you are in life. Put my expertise to work, and let’s just see if it’s possible. I think you would realize this is a great exercise to go through. And best of all, it’s absolutely free.

If you are thinking to yourself, what if I just retired Tony? No problem, we work with retirees all the time. I can probably help you lower fees on your existing retirement accounts. Plan for taxes, show you how to receive guaranteed mailbox money for life, something we have a tremendous gift in assisting people to secure income and make sure you don’t run out of money. I would love to help see if we can help you retire sooner than later. Contact us today, call 1-877-499-9255 or click below!
